Disrepute of parliament

One of the major disappointments of the Howard years was the failure to improve parliamentary standards, not least during Question Time. It is now, as then, something the does nothing more than bring the parliament into disrepute. Abolition seems extravagant but nonetheless reasonable. The disease of ego does not stop there but extends also to committee hearings. Why? Because some idiot has put cameras there too. Terrible Government, and pitiful Opposition. Where to next? Who knows? But get rid of cameras. Now.
